Project *Today and Tomorrow* by Natia Svanidze

Project name: Today and Tomorrow

Project description: This project explores the profound connection between contemporary art and the times we live in, as well as the dreams artists hold for the future.

Which of your artworks best represents the era we live in today, and why?

These photographs represent an era of vulnerability and paradoxes. In the age of GenAI, nations are striving for life without bombs. In a realm of abundant opportunities, many have none. The world is playing the game, but no one understands a thing. As Georgians would say, “It’s all Chinese to me”. Feels like we gaze toward the horizon, yet still from behind the glass walls. A great potential lies locked in chains. Waiting to be unleashed.

Which of your artworks represents your hopes for the future?

Amidst every shadow lies a ray of light. Chasing the diverse and subtle beauties of the world has always had a healing power for me. These photographs capture such moments in three distinct corners of the Earth: Australia, East Asia, and Central America.

I hope for a future where people have wounds only from their wanderings.
